ICA “Meet & Greet” campaign in collaboration with Asia-Pacific today

With an eye towards the International Year of Cooperatives in 2025, ICA has launched a “Meet and Greet” campaign to strengthen the voice of the global cooperative movement. In collaboration with ICA Asia and Pacific (ICA-AP), this event will be held on 28 May 2024, at 09:00 CEST.

The webinar will highlight how the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) serves its members, and the impact it has on the cooperative movement. For the last two centuries, the cooperative identity has offered tangible solutions for fighting climate change, reducing poverty, creating equal opportunities for all, and promoting positive peace in times of conflict.

Some of the guests include Santosh Kumar Shukla, Joint General Manager (Co-operative Development), IFFCO and Dr. Chandrapal Singh Yadav, ICA-AP President. Gretchen Hacquard, ICA’s Director of Membership, will be the moderator and Balu Iyer, Regional Director, will be presenting ICA-AP.

In a press release, ICA AP says “We are calling cooperative organisations from all around the world to deepen their understanding of our mission, and how the ICA is dedicated to support and strengthen the cooperative movement.”

“We are committed to represent the interests of our members and advocate for cooperatives to play a stronger role in overcoming challenges in the global arena. And whenever possible, we promote and share the inspiring stories of how cooperatives impact the communities they serve”, it says further.

“Don’t miss this webinar in the “Meet and Greet” series! Take this opportunity to ask questions, hear from other members, and discover why you should join the ICA”, exhorts the release.

“Be a part of cooperatives worldwide who strengthen communities and prioritize the wellbeing of people. Together, we can show how cooperatives are building a better world”, it concludes.
