The National Labour Cooperative Federation NLCF is caught in the crossfire between its Managing Director R M Pandey and one of the Directors Ashok Dabas.
In the board meeting of 31st January, Indian Cooperative has learnt, NLCF Board passed a resolution on serving a show cause notice to Mr Dabas asking him why not his Indian Labour Cooperative Society Limited be expelled from the membership of National Labour Cooperative Federation(NLCF).
Talking to the Indian Cooperative Mr Dabas admitted receiving the notice. “But it has been stayed since”, he hastened to add. The Arbitrator’s Order reads ” In the interest of the justice, Application for the interim Direction is allowed. The Respondent is restrained from taking any such action till the present reference is decided.”
I challenged the Board decision before the Central Registrar who appointed D R Meena, former Secretary of Law as the arbitrator of the case. After studying the matter the Arbitrator has stayed the execution of show cause notice and its consequence thereof, Dabas said.
Dabas charged the MD with harming the apex body by wasting resources and doing practically nothing. “My frank utterances perhaps did not suit Pandey who turned vindictive’, remarked Dabas. Salaries have been not paid for last six months and the problems are sure to compound once the sixth pay commission recommendations are implemented, he added.
Talking to Indian Cooperative the NFCL Managing Director refused to say anything and said since it was a decision of the Board , Chairman would be the correct person to comment.
But the NFCL sources accuse Dabas of indulging in mud-slinging and thus weakening the institution. Efforts to contact Mr Kushalkar the NFCL Chairman did not succeed.
The fight between the NFCL Board and Dabas is quite old as earlier it had written to NCUI asking the latter to withdraw Dabas from its NCUI Board as he did no longer represent NFCL.
Dabas had approached the Central Registrar in that matter also and had got relief. This present case is an attempt to overreach the consequence of that stay, Dabas told Indian Cooperative. Pandey could not succeed earlier and thus it is his fresh game. I will vow fighting till the cooperative is put back on the growth path, he added.
