Ghanshyam Amin, Vice-President of National Cooperative Union of India has joined BJP and declared that the BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate is a great lover of the cooperative model of development.
“I have several experiences with both Congress and BJP in the past and Modi’s commitment towards cooperative is unbeatable. He comes to cooperative function whenever we invite him”, Amin said.
Ghanshyam Amin is also the chairman of Gujarat state cooperative union.
Modi addressed the Cooperative Congress held in 2013 at Gandhinagar and pursue in to the NABARD regarding the issue to NABARD’s attempt to finish off Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), Amin recalled.
“Cooperative is a state subject and if the structure is to be converted into two tier from three, the call would be taken by state government. Modi has describe to NABARD Gujarat will not agree to change the Three tire system . Amin recounted.
Modi’s popularity among cooperative leaders in the state has increased with him participating in all the major cooperative events of the state. He was there in Kishan Shivir organized by State Cooperative Bank to distribute loan to farmers. Modi also found time to participate in the Cooperative milk Marketing federation’s function. He has also participated the function organized by Cooperative Sugar federation.
Compare this with Congress and you would know the answer, said Amin to Indian Cooperative. In my 20 years of association with NCUI, in the last 10 years we organized three cooperative congresses in Delhi and every time we have invited the Prime Minister as well as The finance minister but nobody has spare time to inaugurate the our Cooperative Congress. Amin said justifying his joining BJP.
I am not a political leader and I have never fought any political election. I would support him who cares for cooperative and support the cooperative movement, Amin concluded.
Readers would be aware that in the run up to the parliamentary poll, several heavyweights from the cooperative sector have joined BJP.
These men jumping on the Modi bandwagon include chairman of Gujarat state cooperative union Ghanshyam Amin, vice-chairman , state cooperative credit society federation Mahesh Amichand Patel, chairman Patan district cooperative union Vasudev Purohit, Chairman Baroda district cooperative federation R.M.Patel and other 150 cooperative leaders of different Cooperative Societies
Sources say the development is bound to further strengthen the BJP’s fortunes in the state. Ghanshyam Amin who enjoys association with a number of state and national level cooperative bodies would be an enormous asset to the BJP, assert sources.
