In a bid to reach out to co-operators across the states, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit the NCUI headquarters today (Wednesday) and will interact with the members of the Governing Council of the apex body.
Shah will visit the office of NCUI at 2:30 P.M. The Governing Council members from across the country have rushed to Delhi and are eager to interact with Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah. Some of them were barely able to hide their excitement when this correspondent called them to know the agenda of the meeting.
Talking to the Indian Cooperative the apex co-op body’s President Dileep Sanghani said, “Amitbhai is coming to the NCUI headquarters and the co-operators connected to the NCUI will have a chance to interact with him.” Several issues pertaining to the cooperative sector and strengthening the cooperative movement will be discussed, added Sanghani.
“Amitbhai will also take the stock of preparations related to the 17th Indian Cooperative Congress to be inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi on1st July 2023 at the convention centre, Pragati Maidan. We are eagerly looking forward to welcoming the Minister at our office”, said Sanghani.
Sanghani also informed that NCUI’s Governing Council meeting is scheduled for today too at the boardroom at around 11:00 A.M. After the GC meeting we will receive the Minister, he stated.
A thorough taskmaster, Shah is keen to know the preparations being done to welcome the Prime Minister in the inaugural session of the Cooperative Congress, a high voltage event which takes place at the interval of every four years. Due to Covid, the last Congress could not take place.
Also, this is the first time a BJP Cooperator ( Dileep Sanghani) is at the helm of affairs. This would be Sanghani’s first brush with the Cooperative Congress which was last presided over in 2013 by Dr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav, then President of NCUI.
Meanwhile, an unprecedented enthusiasm is being seen among the co-operators from across the country for the Congress. They are actively registering themselves for becoming a part of the 17th Indian Cooperative Congress, as a result the registration for the event is oversubscribed.
Earlier, NCUI invited several cooperators from across states and co-op sectors to its headquarters in Delhi to deliberate on fool proof arrangements for the Cooperative Congress. The Congress is scheduled for two days July 1-2 and will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
Earlier, Shah had visited the NCUI office during the event organized by the National Cooperative Agriculture & Rural Development Banks’ Federation Ltd at its auditorium.
It bears recalling that Shah also interacted with the board members of IFFCO during the launching of Nano Urea and DAP last month.
