There are strong indications that the apex national co-op body NCUI has patched up their differences with the Agriculture Ministry on the issue of NCCT delink and a way out is very much in sight.
Reacting to the development NCUI President Dr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav said ” What I can tell you is that we are making serious efforts to resolve the impasse; as of now please don’t ask me more”.
The matter which went to court after the NCUI challenged Ministerial fiat, has had many rounds of hearings without any conclusion so far. Top sources say that the matter is about to be resolved after a meeting between the two sides took place.
Those involved in developing the rapprochement between the leadership from the two sides are averse to involving babus from either side, sources confide to Indian Cooperative.
Indian Cooperative has gathered that the Ministry has agreed to give back NCCT to the apex body NCUI with a condition of having 50 percent board members from it’s side. In the more than 20-member board, the NCUI President would be the Chairman, the agreement says.

Informed sources say it was the brainchild of ex-minister Radha Mohan Singh to sever NCCT from NCUI, which has proved futile for both the parties involved -NCCT and NCUI. It also led to fund crunch in NCCT as absorption of NCCT as a full-fledged govt body was not legally tenable. In the end, everybody was a loser, said the source and the Tomar led Ministry has therefore tried to address the situation.
Junior Minister Parshottam Rupala is believed to have played a crucial role in resolving the situation, sources confide. He held a meeting with NCUI President Chandra Pal Singh Yadav to wriggle out of the situation and a road map was carved out, it added. You would see the announcement this very month, the source claimed.
There is speculation that 50 percent of seats of the NCCT Board will go to the co-operators connected with the ruling BJP so that the Party in power may set its own co-operative agenda. Sahakar Bharati is supposed to play an important role in how the board is formed, said the source.
