In a new twist to the news item concerning Gujarat State Co-op Union in which its Chairman G H Amin was accused of not utilizing the fund, the newspaper has published its regret after the union presented its case based on documentary evidence.
Talking to Indian Cooperative Amin’s representative (Amin is in USA) said that the all the charges of employees of the union regarding the payment of salaries have been proved wrong.
Going into the background of the matter an email from Gujarat State Co-op Union clarified that the state govt stopped the grant-in-aid way back in 1999. That was the time when leader of opposition Amarsinh Chudhary, leading cooperators Jayrambhai Patel and Ghanshyambhai Amin met then Chief Minister Kesubhai Patel to continue with
the grant in aid.
The email was prepared at the behest of G H Amin who is keeping close tab on the issue from USA.
In addition, the Board of Management passed a resolution in March 2012 to the effect that the cooperative Union should get the grant worth Rs.75 lacs every year.
The Board in a delegation met Chief Minister Anandiben Patel apprising her of the economic position of the Gujarat state cooperative union on July 7, a fortnight ago and on the same day the delegation met the cooperative minster on the issue.
The delegation also informed the C.M and the cooperative minister about the trend prevalent in other states where the state Governments give grant in aid to their respective State cooperative unions.
Later the cooperative minister called the directors of the Gujarat state cooperative union. Since Mr Amin is out of country, the GSCU directors led by former M.P Gopalsinh Solanki met the minister. The meeting ended on a positive note as the cooperative minster understood the ground realities, the mail reads.
It is therefore obvious that the charges leveled by the employees’ union’ can easily be dismissed as totally false. The govt auditors have examined the official records of the Gujarat state cooperative union and granted them Audit Grade “A”, the mail concludes.
