Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Parshottam Rupala will inaugurate All India Cooperative Week to be organized by the national apex cooperative body NCUI on November 14 at its headquarters in New Delhi.
The function will be attended by representatives of national and international cooperative organizations, Government of India, representative of NCDC, RBI, NABARD, Farmers Organisations, ICA, ILO and members of the NCUI Governing Council, says a mail from NCUI.
The theme of this year’s celebration of Cooperative Week is “Role of Cooperatives in Sustainable Development and Growth”. It will start at12.30 pm in NCUI’s Auditorium.
NCUI celebrates the All India Cooperative Week every year from November 14 –20. The week long celebrations provide an opportunity to review achievements, challenges as well as to formulate action plans for cooperative development.
The commencement of Cooperative Week coincides with the Birthday of our first Prime Minister late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru – an ardent supporter of the cooperative movement. Usually, all big cooperative federations organize seminars during the week.
IFFCO organizes the Nehru Memorial Lecture in the NCUI Auditorium every year on Nehru’s birthday. It invites a distinguished speaker on the occasion. This year Shiv Khera – a renowned motivational speaker will deliver the IFFCO Nehru Memorial Lecture on 17th November.
