In order to live up to the expectations of cooperators as a friend, philosopher and guide, NCUI is preparing to launch a unique service which will not only help cooperators in complicated legal situations but also help them in setting up a cooperative body.
NCUI has tied up with CSC for the purpose of preparing an application suitable for its purposes. In fact, the CSC has also given its presentation before the NCUI on the subject. The NCUI team has suggested some modifications to meet its requirements and the work at the end of CSC is going on, informed NCUI CE Sudhir Mahajan.
The trial and error process is going on and it will not be put in place more than a few months before it is customized and ready to be used by cooperators across states, added Mahajan.
Named Cooperative Extension and Advisory Services, this new initiative will have twin assignments advising cooperators on various intricacies of co-op laws and acts, along with teaching what is known as LMS (Learning Management Service).
If we simplify this it means we will have experts onboard who will help cooperators in situations of confusion or lack of clarity in the working of their cooperatives, explained NCUI Chief Executive Sudhir Mahajan.
Besides the twin objectives of experts’ advice and LMS, the application will also have FAQ which is frequently asked questions for the benefits of those who have common questions and shortage of time to interact with experts, said Mahajan.
It bears recalling that the CSC – Common Services Centre program is an initiative of the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY), Government of India. CSCs are easy access points for delivery of various digital services to rural and urban people in India, thereby contributing to a digitally and financially inclusive society.
In rural India, CSCs are not just service delivery points, but changing agents too, promoting rural entrepreneurship and building rural capacities and livelihoods. CSC e-Governance Services India Limited is incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956 which provides a centralized collaborative framework for delivery of services to citizens through CSCs, besides ensuring systematic viability and sustainability of the scheme.
The CSCs offer web-enabled e-governance services in rural areas, including applications for Passport, Pan Card, Aadhaar, Voter ID, Ration Card etc , various Government certificates, and utility payments such as electricity, telephone and water bills.
People can access high quality and cost-effective video, voice and data content and services, in the areas of e-governance, education, health, telemedicine, tele-law, entertainment as well as other private services through CSCs.
