The Annual General Body meeting of the national apex cooperative body NCUI will take place today Monday and delegates from across states have begun arriving in town. The AGM would be held at the apex body’s Auditorium at Siri Fort Road in Delhi.
The issues assailing the cooperative sector such as dwindling shares of co-operative loans in the agricultural sector, the 97th CAA still remaining a non starter, the specter of Direct tax code haunting cooperative bodies are likely to dominate discussions in the AGM.
Though some guests are putting up at the NCUI hostel located on the campus, its limited capacity has forced many others to seek residence elsewhere.
According to NCUI sources, AGM is going to pass a few changes in the bye-laws related to constituencies. These changes are minor, added the source. And rest of the stuff on the agenda is routine, he underlined.
AGM is also sure to discuss the upcoming international event (ICA-AP) scheduled later in the year in which several foreign delegates are expected to participate. Besides, President Chandra Pal Singh Yadav is likely to offer a future road map intended to achieve cooperative development in at least two decades down the line, added the source.
