NCUI: NCCE trains cooperators from Chhattisgarh

NCCE of NCUI recently organised 3 day Leadership Development Programme for Chairmen and Directors of Chhattisgarh Cooperatives in New Delhi for the up-gradation of their managerial and entrepreneurial skills so that they can manage their cooperative societies better.

The participants were also trained in the preparation and planning methods to establish micro-enterprise on cooperative and SHG basis to involve more and more women and youth of rural areas for their remunerative and regular income based on agriculture.

The whole training programme was tailored to their needs especially offering them basic tips on how to build enterprises as cooperatives.

In his inaugural remarks, Dr. V. K. Dubey, Director, NCCE said cooperatives are playing a positive role in increasing the income of farmers’ families by undertaking different activities in various sectors. He also wanted agro-based small processing units to be started in rural areas so that the farmers’ income can double by 2022.

Participants appreciated the programme and suggested more such programmes should be organised for the Chhattisgarh cooperatives in the future.

The participants also interacted with Government Officials, Sr. Officials and professional experts of different cooperative organisations. As a part of the programme, the participants visited IARI, and PUSA Unnati Mela to learn about new ideas being developed for agriculture.

They were also made aware of the NCDC Schemes and action plans for developing cooperatives. Veena Sachdeva, Asstt Director, NCCE coordinated the programme successfully, claimed a press release from NCCE.
