NCCE recently organized a Training Programme on diversification and professionalization of business system of Agriculture Cooperative Societies for Chairmen and Directors of Agriculture Cooperatives of Chhattisgarh.
The prime objective of the programme was to improve participants’ managerial skill so that they could professionally run their cooperative societies. The program provided the participants with a platform to interact as well as exchange their views. The program also encouraged discussions among the participants about the challenges confronting cooperative societies.
Sh. Lakhan Lal Sahu, Governing Council Member of NCUI inaugurated the Program. He said there have been many successful cooperative leaders like former President of India Smt. Pratibha Patil, former Prime Minister P.V. Narshimha Rao, National President of BJP Sh. Amit Shah- all hailed from the cooperative background.
Speaking before the participants, Dr. Bijender Sing Vice- President of NCUI said honesty is the soul of cooperatives and those people who adopt this principle alone can be cooperative leaders.
The participants visited National Cooperative Development Corporation to understand the functions and schemes for cooperative development. Smt. Deepa Srivastava, Chief Director, NCDC explained various schemes and how they can take advantage of these schemes.
The topics that were discussed by experts and faculty members covered Cooperative Principles & Values, Role & Responsibilities of Board of Director, Impact of GST in Cooperatives, Project Preparation and planning for Diversification of Business, Cooperative Management, Communication Skills etc.
In his valedictory address, Dr. V.K. Dubey, Director, NCCE said agriculture cooperatives at the grassroots level are playing a very important role in farm production and agriculture growth. He also called upon the trainees to utilize the knowledge gained during the program in improving their organizations.
