National Centre for Cooperative Education (NCCE) of NCUI recently conducted a Leadership Development Programme for Chairmen and Directors of Multi State Cooperative Societies of the country in New Delhi for development of their leadership quality and managerial skill.
More than thirties participants from Kerala, Tamilnadu, Goa, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh attended the programme.
The objective of the programme was to develop leadership and entrepreneurship skill among the participants so that they can provide good governance and professional management to their cooperative societies. The responsibility and functions of the Board of Directors are very important to achieve the targets and providing satisfactory services to the members.
Dr. V. K. Dubey, Director, NCCE inaugurated the programme saying cooperatives are playing a very important role in increasing the income of members by undertaking different activities in the cooperative.
The topics discussed by experts and faculties of NCCE included Cooperative Principle & its Applications in Cooperative Societies, Effective Cooperative Leadership – Qualities & Functions, Role & Responsibilities of Board of Directors, 97th Constitutional Amendment.
Subjects like Salient Features of Multi State Cooperative Societies Act, 2002, Micro Project – Income Generating Activities & Schemes of NCDC, Types & Styles of Effective Cooperative Leaders, Methods of Cashless Transactions etc. were also discussed at length.
In his valedictory remarks,, Dr. A. R. Srinath, Dy. Director, NCCE said the knowledge gained by the participants could be utilised in their work place for better prospects.
