NCUI in FICCI event; CE bats for co-op entrepreneurs

NCUI’s Chief Executive N Satyanaryana briefly spoke about Indian Cooperative movement in the valedictory session of FICCI Global Youth Entrepreneurship & Industry Connect 2020 (FGYEIC) organized last week in which Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank was the chief guest.

Thanking FICCI for collaborating with NCUI as an academic partner for this unique event the CE said, “It must have been an enriching experience for all the participants to gain knowledge from entrepreneurs, and learning about industries which will definitely help them in practical life as entrepreneurs.

“We are glad that entrepreneurs from the cooperative sector have also been covered in the event. I am sure that the engagement must have benefitted the participants. With more than 8 lakh cooperative societies covering almost 95 percent of villages, co-ops are present in all the fields of socio-economic activities be it dairy, fertilizers, sugar or any other sector like housing, agriculture credit insurance etc”, he underlined.

In the video message during the webinar, the CE said co-ops were key to the success of the green and white revolutions due to which India has achieved a great deal. I am happy that one of the cooperatives Amul is one of the world’s renowned brands. Besides Amul there are well known cooperatives like IFFCO, Kribhco, Nafed, ULCCs and many others.

Elaborating about the NCUI, Satyanaryana said, it is an apex organization of Indian cooperative movement focusing on education and training. We are committed to popularizing the cooperative model of entrepreneurship among youth. In order to do it, NCUI is making efforts to popularize the model in schools, colleges and universities, he asserted.

“In recent years, NCUI has organized a training program of Kendriya Vidyalaya teachers in different parts of the country. More than 500 Kendriya Vidyalaya teachers have been trained. At present PG in cooperative management equivalent to MBA is being run by Pune based Vamnicom”, he informed the participants.
