Raipur is going to witness congregation of a large number of co-operators as the apex body of cooperatives NCUI has lined up two important events in the city- GC meeting of NCUI and a Zonal Conference of co-operators on the theme of cooperative development.
One Day Zonal Conference on Cooperative Development for Central Zone would have participants from the states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand. To be held this Saturday, the Conference would take place at Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Krishak Nagar, Raipur.
Bhupesh Baghel, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh will be the Chief Guest in the function, which is going to be attended, among others, by two state ministers including Ravindra Choubey, Minister of Agriculture, Chhattisgarh, Premsai Singh Tekam Minister of Cooperation, Chhattisgarh.
A day prior to the Conference, on Friday (today) the Governing Council of the apex co-op body would be meeting in Raipur. The meeting assumes importance in the sense that the agenda for the upcoming AGM in September would be discussed here. Even the date of AGM, which is likely to fall either on 11th or 12 September would be finalized, said NCUI Chief Executive N Satayanarayan.
Routine issues like adoption of annual account, passing of budget, appointment of Auditor, etc would be placed before the Governing Council, said the CE who acts as the coordinator. There are special invitees also which include Sunil Singh, Biscomaun Chairman as well as Rajiv Singh, BJP MLA from Bhadoai, among others.
Majority of GC members are going to be present in the meeting including its Vice-President Bijender Singh, who is not keeping good health of late, said a source. The sole exception could be Jyotindra Mehta, the Govt nominee who left for the Bahamas to attend WOCCU conference.
Coming to the Zonal Conference, the press release claims that apart from the CM and Ministers inaugurating it, Dr (Col.) Sanjay K. Patil, Vice-Chancellor, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, will also grace the occasion. The Conference would be presided over by Dr Chandrapal Singh Yadav, MP(RS), President National Cooperative Union of India”, read a press release.
The release claimed that the conference will provide all the stakeholders an opportunity to deliberate and introspect about achievements of cooperatives and plan strategies to give further boost to cooperative development in the Central Zone States.
Besides, the conference will be attended by Chairmen and Managing Directors of National, State as well as District level cooperative organizations. Also, Secretary (Cooperation), Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Chief General Managers of NABARD of the concerned States. Representatives from various regional cooperative institutions and eminent co-operators of Central Zone States will also attend the conference.
About 450 representatives/co-operators are expected to attend the event. It bears recall that last year NCUI had organized a similar conference for North Zone in Chandigarh.
