A high-level team led by Chief Executive of NCUI Dr Sudhir Mahajan is visiting Thailand, meeting leaders and sharing new initiatives launched by the apex co-op body in recent times. Besides new co-op training modules, innovative marketing strategies for co-op products are also being discussed with the co-operators of Thailand, NCUI sources say.
On the first day of their official visit on the invitation of Department of Education, Govt. of Thailand, Dr. Sudhir Mahajan, CE, NCUI, had a meeting with Ms. Khunying Kalaya Sophonpanich, Deputy Minister of Education, & senior officials of the office of Vocational Education and Agriculture Deptt, Govt. of Thailand last Friday.
The Deputy Minister welcomed the NCUI Delegation and gave presentations on the ‘One Rai’ and other projects being carried out in the field of Vocational Education & Agriculture.
Dr Mahajan briefed the Dy. Minister about the key initiatives in areas of millet promotion, vocational training & natural farming being undertaken by NCUI to strengthen the coop network and to empower the farmers in India.
Sumit Singh, Advisor (Strategy & Cooperation), NCUI, gave presentations on NCUI’s Incubation and Skill Development Centre, the NCUI Haat and other projects being carried out by the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and Cooperation, in collaboration with partner institutions.
The meeting was extremely fruitful as the Dy. Minister showed keen interest in collaborating with NCUI and asked her team to draft an MoU document by the next week.
Earlier, a high-level delegation from Mauritius visited NCUI comprising Ms. Annushmee Emrith – Rughoobur, Assistant Permanent Secretary, M/o Industrial Development, Mauritius; Mr Ravin Rampersad, Chief Executive Officer, SME, Mauritius; Mr Sanjeev Coonjobeeharry, Director, National Cooperative College (NCC), Mauritius; & Dr Khushmood Ali, Head, Research division, AARDO, Delhi.
The members of the delegation met NCUI’s Chief Executive Dr Sudhir Mahajan & Deputy Chief Executive Savitri Singh and had elaborate discussions on the working of cooperatives in the country and setting up mini fruit processing plants & shrimp farms.
