NCCT Colloquium held in Banglore

The National Council for Cooperative Training (NCCT),the training arm of NCUI conducted a two-day National Colloquium on Cooperative Training during 21st and 22nd March 2015 that brought different Cooperative Training Institutes under one platform to discuss the latest technical trends and excellence to be adopted in cooperative training.

Held at the Cooperative Community Centre in Regional Institute of Cooperative Management, Padmanaba Nagar, Bangalore. All the dignitaries are welcomed by Mohan Kumar Mishra, Secretary, NCCT. Dr. B S Viswanathan, Chairman, Management Committee, RICM, Bangalore felicitated all the dignitaries.

The colloquium was inaugurated by Shri Mohanbhai Kalyanjibhai Kundariya, Union Agriculture Minister of States NCCT CDelhi and the HDCM Training Material was released by him.  Kundariya  addressed the gathering by highlighting the need for improved training techniques which can bring transformation in the economic status of farmers in the country.

In the inaugural function, Shri G T DeveGowda, MLA, Chairman, Karnataka State Coop. Federation, Bengaluru addressed the participants on the need and necessity of change and improvement in the training methods of Cooperative personnel. Dr. Chandrapal Singh Yadav, Chairman, NCCT, presided over the inaugural function and in his address, he brought out the problems of Cooperative Training Institutes such as service tax being paid by cooperative training institutes and the requirement of infrastructures in Cooperative Training Institutes.

NCCT BNCUI President also suggested to include a subject of Cooperation in the curriculum of school and college education and also submitted a request to the State Minister to take necessary steps for the above.

The first day Technical Session started with a speech on overview of Cooperative Training for Cooperative Personnel by Dr. Dinesh, Director General, NCCT, New Delhi. In the afternoon session, Dr. R Krishnamurthy, Consultant, GIZ discussed on the need for strategic Alliance between NCCT supported Training Institutes and State Supported Training Institutes.

He also emphasized the systematic approach to training and Capacity Building for Cooperatives. Prof. Dr. NanditeshNCCT D Niley, Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD), New Delhi, presented a session on the need and benefit of Training Needs Assessment.

The second day was dedicated to a discussion of Designing and conduction of Training programmes for effective Training. Professor B Thyagraj from (ISTD), Bengaluru  discussed on teaching strategies such as a case study of excellence in training, the use of serious games in higher training and the use of professionalisms in Training.

Presenters also addressed strategies for improved training including the use of need-based training, e-assessment, and building business relationship. The evening session of second day was presented by Shri A C Diwakar, JRCS,Government of Karnatka on Diversification of Cooperative Training towards vocational Skill Development. The colloquium brings faculty from all Cooperative Training Institutes together to discuss key issues, present current development in training and to network.
