ICM Patna hosts who’s who of cooperatives

Patna hosted the entire fraternity of cooperative leaders who came here to participate in a function of RICM Patna. The occasion was inauguration of a training programme titled “Leadership Development -cum-Business Development” meant for the Chairmen, Directors of Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Societies of various districts of the Bihar.

NCUI President Mr Chandra Pal Singhji Yadav inaugurated the show and said that the role of cooperatives has increased many fold in the changed economic scenario. We need to undertake innovative training programmes to enable the work force to compete with globalized and liberalized economy.

Being Chairman of KRIBHCO, Mr Yadav also assured to the participants to extend all possible cooperation and support for timely supply of agricultural inputs to improve the business of PACS.

Ajay Kumar Choudhary, IAS, Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Bihar said members involvement is the soul of cooperatives and thus the responsibilities of cooperative leaders is crucial in this sense. He also assured that the state level cooperative training policy is being framed by the Cooperative Department, Bihar for the performance enhancement of the work force from bottom to top functionaries.

RICM, Patna, a unit of NCCT has been given the responsibility to conduct a series of training programme under the Integrated Cooperative Development Project.

Those present on the occasion included Bijendra Singh, Ex-Chairman, NAFED , Mudit Verma, Director, Uttar Bharat Urban Cooperative Banks Federation, Paresh Bhai R.Patel, Bhikha Bhai Patel,Ponnam Prabhakar, MD KRIBHCO  N.Sambhashiv Rao, Ajay Rai, Chairman, U.P.State Cooperative Bank and the President, Andhra Pradesh State Cooperative Union.

Dr. Dinesh, Director General, NCCT and Mohan Kumar Mishra, Secretary, NCCT, New Delhi also made it to the show. Later, they held discussions with the Director and other teaching faculty members of the RICM, Patna about the ongoing training and other activities of the Institute.

Ramesh Chandra Choubey, Chairman, Bihar State Cooperative Bank while proposing vote of thanks also outlined the issues being faced by PACS and urged to address the issues at the earliest to the Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Bihar.

The occasion coincided with the function of last rites of the mother of the Biscomaun Chairman Sunil Kumar Singh. The cooperative leaders went to pay their tributes to the departed soul in Dumri Burj – a village in the Sonepur district of the state.
