The issue of an extension for the Secretary of NCCT Mohan Kumar Mishra got finally settled last week with the Ministry of Agriculture and Family Welfare shooting a letter to NCUI announcing its decision in this regard. Mishra’s deputation has been extended for a period of one year.
In a letter sent to Dr Dinesh Chief Executive of the NCUI, Dr A K Mishra Chief Director in the Ministry wrote” the competent Authority has decided to extend the tenure of Sh. Mohan Kumar Mishra as Secretary, NCCT for a further period of one year w.e.f. 21.10.2015.”
It further directs the CE “You are, therefore, requested to continue Sh. Mohan Kumar Mishra as Secretary, NCCT for a further period of one year w.e.f. 21.10.2015 or, till further orders.
The letter, the copy of which is with Indian Cooperative also mentions CCs sent to both the President of the NCUI and Secretary, NCCT.
Readers would note that Mishra’s extension had become an issue with a number of Governing Council members opposing his extension. While some of them like Pramod Kumar Singh openly expressed their dislike of him, some others confided their feelings to this correspondent asking not to be named.
The NCUI President who was earlier in a fix in the face of opposition against Mishra by some of his team members had reportedly succeeded in convincing them about his continuing as the secretary of NCCT.
But the NCUI inordinately delayed conveying the president’s wish to the Ministry and thus lost a chance of agreeing with the government on the issue. Mishra’s well wishers blame the mischief on some of the apex body’s high-ranking officials as they claim; the President had given his approval long time back.
