NCUI President Chandra Pal Singh Yadav has no clue as to what is happening in the apex consumer cooperative federation NCCF. He has also met the Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan on the issue.
“The Minister heard out our concern patiently and agreed. I believe he had also passed certain instructions in this regard but where the matter has got stuck after that, is not known to us”, he lamented.
“There may be issues with individual cooperators but a cooperative institution should not be blamed as such for this. Great co-operative organizations built with sweat of cooperators in the past are coming to a naught”, said Chandra Pal Singh discussing continuation of Administrator in the apex national consumer cooperative federation, NCCF.
“An administrator is hardly attached to the cooperative and he is also not answerable to anyone. The business of NCCF has gone down and there is no accountability. In contrast a cooperator is answerable to members and has to face them in annual general meetings”, he added.
Besides, his interest and future is also linked with the growth of the cooperative organization. Members argue with him and demand dividend but can they do so if an administrator is sitting at the top? Chandra Pal who was also on the board of superseded NCCF Board asked.
NCUI President who was agitated over the issue of logjam in NCCF for past one and half years said that administrators also generally have additional charges and do not bother to come to office everyday leading to gradual loss of business and lack of growth for the cooperative organizations. “NCCF is its living example”, he added.
