The National Centre for Cooperative Education has conducted a Leadership Development Programme for management committee members especially for SC/ST Chairmen and Directors of cooperative societies of Andhra Pradesh last week.
As per the guidelines of the Government of India, the programme was planned exclusively for the SC/ST cooperative societies as well as the board members. 46 participants have attended the programme.
Dr. Dinesh, Chief Executive of NCUI, inaugurated the programme. He said in his inaugural speech “the society should be financially strong and managed professionally”. The board members are the planner and the decision maker hence; they should be equipped with management rules and norms for properly running an organization”.
Dinesh also suggested to the participants that after returning to their societies, they should apply the knowledge learnt here.
Dr. V.K. Dubey, Director of NCCE, welcomed the chief guests and the participants and explained the objectives of the programme. He said that the SC/ST labour cooperative societies have a relevant role to improve the socio- economic conditions of the weaker sections.
The day to day programme has been chalked out considering the important points for diversification of society business, so that the cooperative societies may commence a micro enterprises for continuous income of the members and financial strength of the society.
The participants will also learn about their role and responsibility in the management of the cooperative societies and scheme policies of State and Central Governments. He also said that this training programme will give a platform for experience sharing and mutual learning.
The other officers of NCCE and Hostel were also present in the inaugural session. Mr. Rajeev Sharma, Deputy Director NCCE and course- coordinator proposed a vote of thanks.
