The National Centre for Cooperative Education (NCCE) -the training arm of NCUI organized a two day Training Programmes on Cooperation and Cooperative Management for the personnel of two IFFCO Plants-Kandla and Kalol.
The participants were from all the divisions of the plants ranging from Assistant Managers to Senior Managers. It was attended by 31 participants from Kandla and 29 from Kalol. The programme was inaugurated by the General Managers of the concerned Units in which senior level officers of the rank of DGM also participated.
During the programme various topics such as Cooperative Thoughts & Concept, Cooperative Principles & Values and their Applications in Cooperative Functioning, Special Features of a Cooperative Organisation, Differentiation of cooperative from Private and Public Sector, Problems and Challenges before Cooperative Movement in India with a special focus on the fertilizer sector were taken up.
Issues like Growth and Trends of the Cooperative Movement in India, Salient Features of the Multi State Cooperative Societies Act, 2002, Agriculture Input Supply and Marketing Strategy of IFFCO, Cooperative Management with Special Reference to IFFCO and other recent changes in cooperative laws were also discussed in detail.
The participants also visited two primary level successful Agriculture Marketing Cooperative Societies and interacted with the farmers and committee members.
A feedback session was also held in which participants expressed their views. They said that the programme was useful and informative for them. They also felt that the programme should have been extended for the third day.
Dr. V. K. Dubey, Director, NCCE coordinated the programme. He wanted the participants to apply the acquired knowledge to their work. The Programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by BA Shah, DGM (Training), IFFCO Unit, Kandla and MN Srinivasan, Sr. Manager (Training), IFFCO Unit, Kalol.
