NCCE of NCUI conducted a three-day online Leadership Development Programme for Chairpersons, Board members and Managing Director of Sugar Cooperative Factories.
The objective was to apprise Leadership and Operational heads of the impact of Covid-19 on this sector and of recent worldwide developments for improvement in sugar production, it’s productivity at farm and factory levels.
Renowned scientists and Subject experts from Indian Agriculture Research Institute (ICAR) New Delhi, Indian Institute for Sugar Research (IISR) Lucknow, National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) and National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories took various sessions during the training program, informs a press release.
The resource persons stressed upon the adoption of innovative methods and procedures for quality production of the yield, value addition and Marketing techniques for better earnings of the farmers.
They explained the diversification of sugar products into other forms like ethanol and paper etc. and discussed India being the largest consumer of sugar in the world that has achieved a record export of 60 lakh tons of sugar in the last financial year.
Participants from the sugar belts of Maharashtra, Punjab, UP and North East attended and hailed this program.
The program was coordinated by Ramesh Kaul, Dy Dir (NCCE).
