NCCE: Chairmen of SC & ST co-ops trained

NCCE recently conducted Leadership Development Programme for Chairman and Directors of SC and ST Cooperative Societies at NCCE, New Delhi.

The objective of the programme was to bring about an improvement in the functioning of the SC / ST Cooperative Societies. 52 participants from Assam, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Mizoram, Punjab and Rajasthan attended the programme.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. V. K. Dubey, Director, NCCE, New Delhi. In his address, he said cooperative societies should be strengthened in order to uplift the rural masses especially in areas with the SC / ST population.

Another goal of the programme was to sensitize the members to cooperative societies so they could take part in cooperative bodies with the latest knowledge.

The major topics discussed included Cooperative Ideology, Philosophy and Cooperative principles & Values , Leadership qualities and functions in the cooperative movement, Time management, motivation and latest schemes launched by the Government of India for providing financial assistance to cooperative societies, etc.

Dr. A. R. Srinath, Deputy Director, NCUI, New Delhi was the coordinator of the programme.
