The extended meeting between the apex cooperative body NCUI and the Ministry of Agriculture and cooperation on the issue of Field Project staff is finally slated for Wednesday that is today.
Ashish Bhutani, Central Registrar would be meeting a host of stake holders such as Dr Dinesh, Chief Executive of the NCUI, Mohan Mishra, Secretary NCCT , a representative of NCDC and others. The meeting will take place at his chamber in Krishi Bhawan in Delhi.
The meeting assumes significance as it may finally chart out a course of action for the betterment of the aggrieved project employees who have petitioned everyone under the sun- from the President to the Prime Minister to Indian Cooperative umpteen times.
Earlier, the one on one meeting scheduled between Dr Dinesh and Bhutani, as reported by Indian Cooperative quoting Dr Dinesh was cancelled at the last minute.
Confirming the news Chief executive Dr Dinesh said to Indian Cooperative “yes indeed a meeting with the Central registrar is going to take place and talk to me in the evening to know the outcome.” There are several issues pertaining to the staff working for project officers and we hope to thrash out a solution workable for them, he added.
Project officers complain that they are paid a pittance even though they train people in remote areas. Even NCUI Chief Executive admitted this ”I have always felt that the cooperative movement in remotest parts of the country is being ignited by these people; I even took up the issue of having many more such projects in the future with the Central Registrar; but the clearance has to come from the government.
