With the arrival of the new President and a new Chief Executive at the scene, it was but natural that a major reshuffle of staff-members would follow at the highest body of co-operatives in the country, NCUI. And the change has led to the rise of Women Power, if sources are to be believed.
The reshuffle has led to the rise of two formidable women as the frontline sepoys of NCUI. They are Savitri Singh and Sandhya Kapur. While Savitri has come back to NCUI after a long stint with ICA AP, Sandhya has been active all through with many responsibilities at the NCUI headquarters all these years.
Savitri Singh has been entrusted with several important departments of the apex body such as NCCE, International Relation, etc.
Earlier, the head of NCUI education wing National Centre for Cooperative Education (NCCE) was Dr V K Dubey but now Savitri Singh has been made the head of the NCCE. The international relations looked after by Ritesh Dey, have also been given to Mrs. Singh. She has also been made in-charge of the Cooperative Education Fund which was overseen by Monica Khanna.
According to NCUI sources, Divisional Heads have been asked to report to Savitri Singh instead of the CE; Savitri, in turn will brief the CE. Sources close to NCUI said Mrs Singh is likely to be promoted as the Executive Director.
In the reshuffle, NCUI Director Sandhya Kapoor is the second lady who has been assigned with crucial departments. Sandhya was given the charge of finance and now she has been given the estate division. The estate division was earlier with Ashish Diwedi (ED) who will now look after only one division i.e. Admin.
The General Cooperative Policy (GCP), Cooperative Education Field Projects and International Relations were earlier with K N Sinha (ED) but now he has been entrusted with GCP and Cooperative Data Bank. The Cooperative Education Field Project has now been given to Rajeev Sharma (Director).
The HR (Personnel) division has been given to Dr V K Dubey who was earlier heading the NCCE. Though Dubey maintains a stoic silence, his friends resent his transfer just before his retirement.
“After all he was doing a brilliant job by conducting so many courses incessantly; he is to retire in a couple of months, what is the point transferring a man at the fag end of his career”, they point out.
Talking to Indian Cooperative NCUI President Dileep Sanghani said these reshuffles have been carried out with an aim to infuse fresh energy in the working of NCUI.
