Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Agriculture Mr Kumar Sanjay Krishna said that cooperative institutions are different from other organizations as they have distinct sense of service and caring-sharing among members. The principles of cooperative, if followed truly, could change the face of society, he added.
Krishna was speaking on the occasion of launching of Video Conferencing facility in the NCCT with its training units which included VAMNICOM, RICMs and ICMs spread across India. The programme was held at NCUI headquarters. NCUI President Chandra Pal Singh was also scheduled to be present but he had to rush to Gujarat to attend some cooperative function, said NCCT sources.
Inclusiveness –the mantra of cooperative ultimately leads to good governance. The world is changing and the globe is now a village. Cooperatives have to compete with private sectors and hence improvement of human resource is very important, Krishna said. He patted NCCT for offering good services towards HRD sector.
Welcoming the Chief Guest, Mohan Kumar Mishra Secretary, NCCT highlighted the activities of the NCCT and importance of video conferencing facility for sharing academic resources as well as for smooth monitoring, coordination and evaluation of the activities. NCCT is making efforts to improve the quality of training, Mishra asserted.
A brief presentation on the achievements of NCCT and its training units were made by Dr. N. Ranjana Devi, Director (Programme). Later the Chief Guest along with the Secretary NCCT interacted with VAMNICOM and some of the RICMs/ICMs through Video Conferencing. The launching function was attended by the officers and staff of NCCT and NCUI officers.
