Soon after signing the MoU the apex body of cooperatives National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) has begun organizing Teachers Training Programme for Kendriya Vidyalaya School teachers in right earnest. One was held last week by NCCE –the training and education arm of the apex body.
Readers would recall that this year NCUI has signed a MOU with the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan at the latter’s premises in Delhi. The MOU aims at popularizing cooperative model of education in Kendriya Vidyalaya schools across the country.
The inaugural session of the programme was attended by U.N.Khaware, Additional Commissioner, KVS, NCUI, CEO, N.Satyanaryana, NCCT, Director, N.Ranjana, NCCE, Director, Dr. V.K.Dubey, Kendriya Vidyalaya School teachers, NCUI Officials and others.
NCUI, CE, N.Satyanaryana said that ” popularizing cooperative business model among schools’ children is very important in helping them in their self-development and Character building. We have organized quiz and debate competitions for creating awareness for cooperatives amongst school children,” he said.
He further said that by learning cooperative subject students can develop their leadership qualities and later also set up cooperatives for self employment. NCUI CE, informed Institutes of Cooperative management across the country working under NCUI are helping in the professionalization of Cooperatives through education and training.
Additional Commissioner, KVS, U.N.Khaware was invited as chief guest in the inaugural session of this two day programme. Addressing the teachers of Kendriya Vidyalaya, he said cooperatives are not a profit making institution and they are working for the welfare of their members thus contributing to society. Amul and IFFCO are the pride of cooperatives and we have to learn from these successful cooperative societies who always work for the good of farmers.
NCCE, head, Dr V.K.Dubey said it is just a beginning towards spreading cooperative knowledge among the students. The prime objective is to develop employment opportunities. Ranjana Devi, Director, NCCT said cooperative is the best knowledge in the world; if we want to create awareness among students we need to make teachers aware of cooperative principles as well.
