Cooperators of the country joined their brothers across the world to celebrate the International Cooperative Day on July 1 with great enthusiasm. If NCUI President Chandra Pal Singh Yadav wished everybody a happy Co-op Day through this portal, IFFCO MD took to social media for the occasion.

Reports of celebrations came from across states including Punjab and J&K. Indian Cooperative desk was flooded with mails on the occasion both from ordinary cooperators to cooperative leaders.
On this occasion NCUI organized a talk show on “no one should eb left behind.” Harvinder Kalyan, Chairman, HARCOFED called upon the youth to play active role in cooperatives for their professional functioning. He was participating in the NCUI function.
The Message of this year’s UN International Day of Cooperatives celebrated on 1st July every year is “Cooperatives Ensure No one is Left Behind”. Kalyan further said that cooperatives is a big field open for youth to show their entrepreneurial capabilities by starting small-scale ventures. Calling upon need for cooperation among cooperatives, he emphasized upon transparent functioning of cooperatives.
Manoj Nardeo Singh, Asst. Secretary General, AARDO speaking on the occasion said that cooperatives are noblest and inclusive form of organisations which has space for everyone. However, he cautioned that genuine cooperatives are needed to ensure that no one is left behind. He called upon publicising success stories of cooperatives to the general masses so that they know about the good work of cooperatives. Calling upon the need to develop strong leadership in cooperatives, he said that leaders should nurture more leaders.

S P. Singh, Political Bureau Chief, Dainik Jagran, speaking on the occasion said that, there is need to build up trust for cooperatives amongst the masses. Emphasising on the need to make cooperatives digital, he said that digital cooperatives can only compete in the market economy. Stressing on the need to make cooperatives come out of the clutches of politicians, he said that professionals should be inducted in large numbers in the functioning of cooperatives.
S.P. Singh, Managing Director, Indian Farm Forestry Development Cooperative, a subsidiary of IFFCO, a world famous fertilizer cooperative speaking on the occasion said that IFFDC is a successful model of sustainable development as it is involved in forestation of degraded lands. He also said that cooperatives need to technologically equip themselves in the new era of GST. He further said that cooperatives did a good work as compared to other organisations during economic recession.
Satyanarayana, Chief Executive, NCUI in his introductory speech said that cooperatives are inclusive organisations in which, there is no discrimination. He also said that sustainable development is a big challenge for the cooperatives.
