NCUI President Dileep Sanghani paid a visit to the sprawling building of NCUI coming up at a posh location in Noida in the second half of Monday. Sanghani landed from Gujarat in the morning to attend the Governing Council meeting of NCUI scheduled for today (Tuesday).
Taking a tour of the new building which is called Centre of Excellence, Sanghani was visibly impressed by its planning. The former President Dr Chandapal Singh Yadav, who inaugurated the building last November, had played a crucial role in saving the plot from the Noida Authority and expediting the construction.
“The building would be ready in the next 3-4 months and the training of cooperators would begin in the right earnest”, said Sanghani to this correspondent after taking stock of the progress of the construction.
Besides a host of NCUI officials which included its CE N Satyanarayan, Sanghani was accompanied by two Governing Council members-G H Amin and Gurpartap Singh Khushalpur. Amin is also the GC member who was entrusted with the job of overseeing the construction of the building by the NCUI Board.
Compared to the training space available to NCUI in its Delhi’s headquarters this Centre has a huge space and can conduct several batches and various diploma courses in co-op training.
For the cooperative movement to succeed and to reach out to the last man, training is essential and I am sure this Centre would become the focal point of the co-op movement in the country, said Sanghani.
It bears recall that in 2006, the Noida Authority had allotted an industrial plot of 3000 square meter to NCUI for the project of printing purposes on leasehold basis for a period of 90 years. While the printing press is coming up in the basement, the rest of the structure is being carved into an ace class training centre.
