There is a bad news for NCUI. The delegation going to participate in the BRICS nations meet is being led not by the apex cooperative’s President but by the Joint Secretary level officer of the Ministry.
South Africa’s Dept of Trade and Industry together with South African National Apex Cooperative are hosting an international meet involving cooperative leaders from BRICS countries later this month in Cape Town.
It is a meet of cooperative leaders and should have been ideally led by the President of NCUI. But government of India thinks otherwise.
Government official, on the condition of anonymity told Indian Cooperative that since GOI sets great store by BRICS nations, implementation of the outcome of the meeting will be its responsibility. Obviously, they are not confident enough to leave it on cooperative leaders of the country.
Even the selection of the leaders in the delegation was a government pick. Besides, NCUI President Chandra Pal Singh and its Chief Executive Dr Dinesh, NCCF Chairman Virendra Singh, Labour cooperative leader Sagwan and others are leaving today to participate in the meet. Central Registrar is leading the delegation.
Earlier, Virendra Singh told Indian Cooperative that “a delegation of about seven members is leaving for the Cape Town and I am one among them.”
The main subject of the meet will be” partnerships for development, integration and industrialization through cooperatives”.
