When Indian Cooperative talked to NCUI President Chandra Pal Singh Yadav to know his stand on Adiya’s candidature , somewhat stumped by the question he said “that he is our candidate who gets an unreservedly enthusiastic support from us needs no reiteration.”
In the past, there had been a muted tension on the issue between NCUI and IFFCO. While the IFFCO believed since its late Chairman Surender Jakhar had been on the ICA Board, its claim is natural.
But the NCUI countered it reasoning being the apex body of the entire Indian cooperative movement, it has a natural claim to the ICA Board membership.
Those keeping a close watch on the developments were amused by the choice of Aditya Yadav by the IFFCO. Aditya is one of the board members of the IFFCO. They saw in it a move that would scotch all opposition from the NCUI President and his team.
This was evident when Indian Cooperative posed questions before the NCUI President Chandra Pal Singh, he said Aditya is like my son and I cannot imagine going against him.
Readers would recall that Aditya Yadav is the son of Shri Shiv Pal Singh Yadav, younger brother of SP supremo and Uttar Pradesh strongman Mulayam Singh Yadav.
When this correspondent asked if he (Chandra Pal Singh) thinks it is a smart move by the IFFCO to silence all opposition, Chandra Pal said nothing but burst into a throaty laughter chiming with the correspondent in a way.
