They are Bijender Singh, former Chairman of Nafed, Virendra Singh, outgoing Chairman of NCCF and Yash Pal Singh Yadav, son of the NCUI President Dr Chandra Pal Singh.
Vishal Singh, however, failed to make it as his nomination paper was rejected due to technical glitches. He is said to have forgotten to write the name of the cooperative organization he represented.
Bihar was the lone state from where there was just one nomination filed and as of now the state remains unrepresented. Even Biscomaun could not qualify as it had not done enough business. Sunil Singh, the chairman had come on Wednesday to file nominations but without success.
There are three government nominees on the Board- two of them being close aide of the Union Minister Ramvilas Paswan. One of them Vijay Kumar is a chairman of a land mortgage cooperative in Bihar and the other one Ajay Kumar is a former journalist doubling as national spokesperson of LJP. The third one is a Deputy Secretary in the government of India.
