The court judgment had rekindled a hope of reviving the suspended Board but the latest move by the Ministry has thrown cold water, said a source privy to the NCCF affairs.
But before the cooperators could find time to huddle together and thrash out the next course of action, the Ministry has made the move.
”There had been no specific consultations on the latest development though we met in the Nafed Board meeting, said Virendra Singh, the ousted Chairman to Indian Cooperative”. The Nafed Board has several directors who are concurrently with NCCF like Bijender Singh, Vishal Singh and Virendra Singh.
Vishal is the main petitioner who objected to the Ministry’s diktat in the court. Earlier, the Delhi High Court has quashed the government order superseding the Board of the National Consumer cooperative Federation (NCCF).
The court had directed the Ministry to issue fresh notice seeking out views of each and every member before dissolving the Board.
Buoyed up by the order, Virendra Singh, Chairman of the NCCF had told Indian Cooperative ” it is a God-sent chance to avenge the humiliations”.
”We are trying to contact his fellow directors to decide on the fresh course of action in the wake of the development,” Virendra Singh informed Indian Cooperative.
