Kribhco Chairman Dr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav’s son Yashpal Singh has got the ticket from Samajwadi Party for fighting the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections from Babina in Jhansi.
His name was announced in the list released on Monday.
Babina is an Assembly seat in which Chandrapal had secured a majority of votes in the Parliamentary elections which he fought unsuccessfully. Uma Bharati of BJP had romped home.
Yash Pal is also a cooperator and was on the board of the apex body of consumer cooperatives NCCF. Chandra Pal who has been a known SP leader in the Bundelkhand area has thrown his weight behind him.
It bears recall that in the last elections in 2017, Yashpal Singh Yadav had lost the Assembly elections from Babina seat in Jhansi by a narrow margin.
Besides, IFFCO’s RGB Member and IFFDC Director Er Ankit Parihar also got the ticket from the SP for fighting the assembly polls from Bhagwant Nagar in the Unnao district.
Merrut District Cooperative Bank Chairman Maninder Pal got the ticket from BJP to contest the UP assembly elections from Siwalkhas constituency in the district.
Another cooperator and sitting MLA Nagendra Singh Rathore who was also the Chairman of Parag Dairy, got the BJP ticket from Bhojpur in Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh.
Earlier, former MLA and Chairman of Mirzapur District Central Cooperative Bank Rajendra Prasad Singh (BJP) resigned from BJP and joined the Samajwadi Party in the presence of Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow.
The elections in Uttar Pradesh will take place in seven phases between February 10 and March 7. The result will be announced on 10th March 2022. The first phase polling will be held on February 10 and the second on February 14.
