ICA Expo is starting from 8th of December in Bengaluru. Aimed at encouraging trade among cooperatives across the globe ,the Expo will showcase cooperative products to the visitors.
According to sources about over 130 co-operative exhibitors from 23 countries will be participating in the mega show which is to be held from 8th to 10th December 2010 at KTPO, White Field in Bengaluru.
Some of the big names participating in the Expo includes IFFCO , the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation of Korea and JA-Zenchu of Japan. These organisations are some of the biggest members of the ICA Global 300. Cooperative Group of the UK, the largest consumer cooperative in the world will also be a part of the Expo.
ICA Expo aims at playing a vital role in bringing the experts from the cooperative Industry under one roof with opportunity in dealing, networking and exploring business across the globe.
IFFCO is the official host organisation of ICA EXPO 2010 and plays a crucial role in its success. Many important leaders of cooperatives including NCUI President Mr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav have left to participate in the mega event.
According to an estimate, the top 300 co-operatives in the world alone have a turnover of 3 trillion dollars which is as big as the GDP of many countries. over 100 million jobs are provided by co-operatives which is 20% more than all the multi national corporations put together.
Co-operatives from Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Georgia, Korea, India, Iran, Japan, Malaysia, Mauritius, Nigeria, Poland, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, East Timor, UK and the U.S.A., will join the hosted country to showcase exclusive co-operative products and services to increase their import and export opportunities.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Paul Hazen, President and CEO of the National Co-operative Business Association (NCBA) USA, and Member of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) Board of Directors said “The 2010 ICA Expo will be a great opportunity for co-operatives to build business relationships to other co-operatives from around the world.
It will be an opportunity to sell and market co-operative products, to gain access to new markets and to learn from co-operatives in other countries. ICA Expo will also give visibility to the co-operative sector as well as show how the global co-operative movement promotes the economic and social progress for all the people of the world.”
