Harijan Cooperative Societies would get tube well on priority, a Punjab government spokes person said on Tuesday. Harijan Cooperative Societies having land one acre and above are eligible for this connection.
Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had been getting requests at various sangat darshans for giving tube well connections to Harijan Cooperative Societies so they can increase agriculture production raising their level of living in the society for quite a long time.
The Secretaries of the Harijan Cooperative Societies may apply for connections directly to the additional Superintending Engineer (Distribution) or Senior Executive Engineer completing all formalities. By directly applying to higher authorities, it would cut delays of processing and red tapism. The Chairman Powercom has issued instructions to the field staff to issue priority connections at the earliest.
Priority connections at present are being given to Gram Panchayats, Religious Bodies and Cowsheds.
