Word is an NGO Grahak Hitvardhini in Pune that fights for consumer rights will hold a seminar on the working of cooperative bodies and possible ramifications of 97th constitutional amendment for the Maharashtra cooperative societies Act.
Maharashtra cooperation commissioner Madhukar Chaudhary will be the chief guest and a well known expert on cooperative affairs Vidyadhar Anuskar will deliver the key address at the seminar. Mr Anuskar is a highly experienced banker holding important positions in several financial institutions including the RBI.
Among other things, the seminar will deal with the difficulties and confusion being faced by the cooperative housing societies in the changed context as well as suggest ways and means of overcoming them.
The seminar is being organised against a backdrop of a strong public feeling of wanting to have a clear understanding of the situation, he noted.
