After much heart-burning among friends, hobnobbing with adversaries and compromising on claims- the usual trademarks of any cooperative election, Kribhco is voting today. Its top leaders worked hard to avoid voting and were successful in most of the seats but the Constituency number 4 remained an elusive goal for them.
This constituency has been represented by Kribhco outgoing Vice-President Vaghajibhai Boda in the past. But this time his protégé of the past Maganlal Dhanjibhai has challenged him. The die is cast and the voting has to take place today at NCUI, New Delhi.
It is being reported that registration of delegates will start from 9:00 AM and voting will be held from 12:00 noon to 2:30 PM at NCUI, 3 Siri Institutional Area, August Kranti Marg, New Delhi- 110016. A retired IAS B B Srivastava is overseeing the election process as the returning officer.
The counting of votes would be done immediately after the poll and the result would be announced soon after the counting. A meeting of the newly constituted BoD of Kribhco will be held in the committee room of NCUI for the purpose of electing Chairman and Vice-Chairman.
To select one from the two-Boda and Maganbhai, 239 delegates of Gujarat are eligible to cast their votes. In the run up to the voting, both levelled unpleasant charges against each other. While Maganbhai called Boda a man with insatiable ambition, the latter called the former naïve and inexperienced.
Who is what-will be decided today, said a senior co-operator rather mischievously.
It bears recall that are nine constituencies from which nine directors are to be elected but eight directors have already been elected unopposed and the voting is only for one constituency i.e. VI.
Earlier, we have reported that Dr Chandra Pal Singh, Paresh Patel, Sudhakar Chowdhary, Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, Bijendra Singh, Sunil Kumar Singh and R Rajendra have already been elected unopposed as directors on the Kribhco board.
