The final list of nominations after scrutiny was made public on Friday and there is speculation that at least five seats will go to the polls if candidates do not withdraw their names.
There are nine constituencies in all that elect directors. Since the four constituencies have already elected directors unopposed, there may be elections on five seats. Sources, however add that the main contest would be on two seats represented earlier by Vaghajibhai and Sudhakar Chowdhary.
Entry to the board of Kribhco is going to be tough for V R Patel and for V. Sudhakar Chaudhary as opposed to V R Patel is Maganbhai Patel from Gujarat and that against V. Sudhakar Chaudhary is Chanappa S Koppad from Karnataka.
The whole picture would be clear after the withdrawal of nominations which will take place on 06.01.2020 and the final list of candidates left in the fray will be released on the same day at 1:00 PM.
Biscomaun Chairman Sunil Kumar Singh, Nafed Chairman Bijendra Singh, R Rajendra from Karnataka State Coop Mktg, federation Limited, Chandra Pal Singh from Kisan Bahudesiya Sahakari Samiti have been elected unopposed as directors on the board of Kribhco.
According to the list, the Kribhco outgoing President Chandra Pal Singh Yadav is fighting elections from two constituencies. While he has been elected unopposed from one of the two constituencies he is facing a rival Tej Pal Singh from Krishi Utpadan Avam Vipnan Sahakari Samiti in the second constituency.
Besides, the outgoing director Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat from MP and Pareshbhai R Patel from Gujarat also may face challenges this time because from Shekhawat’s constituency Pratap Singh from UP has filed his nominations whereas from Patel’s constituency Dilip Nikam from Maharashtra is a contestant. Informed sources say efforts to win them over in favor of Shekhawat and Paresh are still on.
V R Patel is, however, not that lucky as several heavyweights including Mohanbhai Kundariya, Jayesh Patel and others are trying hard to defeat him at the hustings and make Maganbhai a Director on the Kribhco Board. Sources say there are echoes of Saurashtra’s electoral politics in this constituency as the two- Vaghajibhai and Maganbhai belong to Congress and BJP respectively.
The list of successful nominations as published by election office of Kribhco follows:
