Chandra Pal Singh Yadav, Vice Chairman of Kribhco has denied media report of Kribhco taking over the sick Sindri Fertilizer plant. Talking to Indiancooperative.com Mr Singh said since government has yet not provided gas supply, the question of taking it over does not arise.
Vice Chairman of Kribhco said that there was a proposal two years back in which a new consortium of Kribhco,RCF and NAF was proposed to be formed in the name of Urbarak Videsh. The Centre has promised to provide for uninterrupted supply of gas.
Since no gas was made available till date, there is no proposal before our Board to go in for this venture,Mr Singh added.
Meanwhile, the Centre on Tuesday failed to submit a revival proposal for the closed Sindri Fertilizers Factory before the Board of Industrial and Financial Restructuring (BIFR).
According to reports reaching here, the department of fertilizers under the Union ministry of chemicals and fertilizers has sought one more month to submit a viable proposal for revival of the closed fertilizer units including the Sindri factory.
Delhi high court had remitted the case of revival of the closed fertilizer units back to the BIFR on August 30 last year after the Centre informed the court that it was actively considering the revival of the closed fertilizer units including the Sindri factory.
On November 12, the government informed the BIFR that it had decided to revive three closed fertilizer units at Sindri, Ramagundam and Talcher through nomination basis and the rest situated at Barauni, Durgapur, Haldia, Gorakhpur and Korba through open bidding process.
