The 33rd Annual General Meeting of Kribhco was held on Thursday at NCUI auditorium in N Delhi. Delegates cutting across states participated in the function where a beaming Chairman Vaghjibhai Patel announced a pre-tax profit of Rs 368.88 crore.
The Kribhco board announced a dividend of 20 per cent to the share holders. The net worth of the Society has increased to Rs 3136 crore. The total membership of Kribhco as on March 2013 consists of 7374 members, AGM was informed.
AGM was also informed that a special membership drive was launched by Kribhco in the month of MAY-June 2013 resulting into enrollment of 2119 new cooperative societies. The share capital of government of India has been fully repatriated.
Your Society has become a cooperative society fully owned and controlled by member cooperative societies, said the Chairman amidst cheers.
In his speech Vice-Chairman of Kribhco Chandra Pal Singh said that maintain the quality of fertilizers Kribhco has proved itself as the true friend of farmers. It has contributed its bit in strengthening the cooperative movement in the country.
He, however pointed out that govt is not always kind to the cooperatives and an impression is being created that cooperatives are of no use. There is a need to distribute the fruits of cooperative to the last man and efforts should be made to change the perception.
In his speech Chandra Pal referred to Amul and Iffco to emphasize that only cooperatives could take on multi nationals.
On this occasion Dhirubhai Chards and Ram Udar Chaudhary were awarded Sahakarita Shrimoni Award and Sahkarita Vibhusan award respectively.
