A determined Sahakar Bharati has not given up and continues to meet union ministers lobbying for a place of pride for cooperative in the upcoming budget. The Budget session which is to begin next week will have budget presentation on 29th February.
A Sahakar Bharati delegation comprising of its President Jyotindra Mehta, Patron Satish Marathe and Gujarat leader Kantibhai Patel called on Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu Thursday to impress upon the need to include cooperative in the budgetary planning.
In his Face Book post Mr Mehta writes “met veteran Co-Operator, Hon CA Sureshji Prabhu, Rly Minister and pleaded him to use his good offices to restore Income Tax exemption for the Co-operative Banking Sector.”
Mehta further writes that Sureshji Prabhu accepted the detailed representation and assured to take up the matter with the Finance Minister. Prabhu is seen displaying the copy of representation in the FB post.
Using his stay in Delhi en route to Mathura to attend Chintan Baithak Mr Satish Marathe also talked to Union Energy Minister Piyush Goyal , Minister for Energy making a similar request as writes Mehta” Earlier in the day, Sh Satishji Marathe also spoke to Hon CA Piyushji Goyal, Minister for Energy and made a similar request.”
Sahakar Bharati leaders have also presented their case before Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. Several cooperative leaders, Indian Cooperative talked to are appreciative of the all-out efforts these leaders are making to bring co-operative centre-stage in budgetary planning.
