Social media saw unusual activities on the occasion of the largest framers’ cooperative IFFCO turning 48 on Tuesday. From IFFCO PR to IFFCO Directors to the MD himself –all could be seen tweeting and pasting comments on FB walls.
The excitement was all the more palpable as the MD announced the start of the preparations for the Golden Jubilee scheduled for celebration in 2017. IFFCO PR led by young journalist cum Public Relations man Harshendra Vardhan Singh was one of the first to tweet“ We turn 48 today ! We have always strived to serve the #indian farmer. We thank all for their support. #IFFCOat48”.
Congratulating the farmers and the associates MD Dr U S Awasthi said “ Congrats 2 all at #IFFCO on d foundation day of #IFFCO. Serving farmers 4rm d last 48 years. 2 to go for 50 Yrs of farmers-country service.”
Yogesh Lohiya-the head of IFFCO-Tokio also congratulated Dr Awasthi and underlined the role the cooperative behemoth has played in the lives of the farmers of the country. Lohiya tweeted “@drusawasthi Many congratulations on the foundation day #IFFCO. Farmers society shall remain indebted to IFFCO for their selfless services.”
Several of MD’s followers on the tweeter expressed happiness at the prospect of IFFCO celebrating Golden Jubilee in 2017 as one of them replied to Awasthi”@drusawasthi Everybody is looking forward 2 d Golden Jubilee Celebrations under ur dynamic leadership.Proud 2 b with IFFCO under ur guidance.”
Prem Chandra Munshi, one of the Directors on the IFFCO Board also pasted his FB walls with a brief story of IFFCO from the start. “It was this day November 3 in 1967 when IFFCO was founded to help framers with the production of quality fertilizers. IFFCO has proved its worth by being conscious of its ideals and has helped the farmers of the country in true sense”, Munshi wrote. Later he goes poetical on the leadership qualities of MD and credits him with making IFFCO a name to reckon with not only in India but also in the world.
