IFFCO Board elected N P Patel as the new Chairman and Balvinder Singh Nakai as the vice-chairman in the board meeting held on Friday.
The election of leaders were through consensus. Mr Patel was Vice president in the earlier Board. Hailing form Gujarat he has played a long inning at Cooperatives in general and Iffco in particular. Mr Balwinder Singh has also been associated with IFFCO for more than 2 decades.
Mr Patel is also Chairman of Gujarat State Cooperative Marketing Federation Limited and has also served as Chairman of National Consumer Cooperative Federation(NCCF). The newly elected Vice-Chairman Balvinder Singh Nakai belongs to Bhatinda district of Punjab and is also Chairman, Malwa Fruit and Vegetable Cooperative Marketing.
All the 27 Board members were present in today’s meeting and the two were declared elected by the returning officer Mr R D Agrawal.
Talking to Indian cooperative.com senior Baord Member Sheesh Pal said that the election was based on consensus and we are happy with Mr Patel’s and Mr Nakel’s elevation to the posts. Echoing similar sentiment board member Tripathi from Uttrakhand also lauded the role of Mr Patel in the success story of IFFCO.
