Union Minister Ananthkumar inaugurated the 52nd annual seminar of Fertilizer Association of India with the theme “Fertilizer – Make in India” on Wednesday in Aerocity Delhi. Speaking on the occasion Ananthkumar said the Government of India has taken many policy interventions to make Indian Fertilizers Industry as one of the fastest growing sector in India.
On the opening day different units of IFFCO were given awards as announced earlier and reported in these columns titled” IFFCO’s loot at FAI; runs off with 8 awards”. The story has gathered more than 10 lakh hits so far.
“I congratulate and thank the entire management- from CMD to the common worker of the Industry for achieving record production of Urea during the financial year 2015-16. I also thank the industry for extending the credit facility to the retailers and dealers after demonetization. It will help the farmer to get fertilizer on credit”, Kumar underlined.
Who’s who of fertilizer sector were present on the occasion. Kumar’s junior Mansukh Mandaviya was also there. IFFCO’s several units and subsidiaries bagged many Awards in different categories. From safety to marketing to artistic video film, it won in all 8 Awards at one go.

Other awards won by IFFCO included: IFFCO Phulpur unit has won the FAI Award in Excellence in safety in the Nitrogenous Fertilizer plant category. IFFCO’s Anola unit received the award for environmental protection in the nitrogenous fertilizer plant category for 2015-16. IFFCO Kalol has won the runner up FAI Award excellence in safety in the Nitroenous fertilizer plant and others.
FAI is a representative body of the Fertilizer Industry. FAI Annual Seminar is an important event in the international calendar attracting delegates in large numbers from India and abroad. This seminar is accompanied by an exhibition where 45 companies are displaying their products and services.
There are 18 presentations from within and outside the country. The presentations relate to supply-demand and price trends of fertilizers and raw materials, impact of fertilizer policies, production technologies, prudent use of natural resources in Indian agriculture, efficiency in marketing and distribution, etc.
