He also expressed his joy over meeting cooperators in the AGM as reflected in his tweet” I am delighted to share the dais at #IFFDC #AGM with eminent cooperators.”
IFFDC’s cooperative forests hold significance because revival and regeneration of 26,000 hectares of salt-affected ravines and waterlogged wastelands of which 12864 hectares have been developed through cooperative efforts.
These changes were made by the small and marginal communities of Uttar Pradesh, who are as much the drivers of the ecological change as much its beneficiaries. The number of persons who have benefitted from the activities of IFFDC in past 3 years is said to be more than 39 thousand persons.
IFFCO had promoted a separate Multi-State Cooperative Society named ‘Indian Farm Forestry Development Cooperative Limited’ (IFFDC) in 1993 with the prime objective of development of wasteland for tree plantation and to enhance the socio-economic status of rural poor through sustainable Natural Resource Management by collective action.
