There was jubilation in the IFFCO family on Sunday when Prime Minister Narendra Modi referred to its drone-driven Nano urea sprinkling exercises, going on across states. In his “Mann Ki Baat” broadcast Modi talked about IFFCO’s new initiative.
The Prime Minister said that India is extensively using drones for a host of services and in this context, he referred to Nano Urea sprinkling. He chose the case of the latest Nano urea sprinkling at Bhavnagar in Gujarat in his radio program.
It was the 82nd edition of his monthly radio program which is broadcast on the last Sunday of every month. However, this time the program was broadcast on the second last Sunday of October.
Reflecting the emotion of IFFCO family members, it’s MD Dr. U S Awasthi tweeted “It’s a proud moment for everyone at IFFCO as Hon’ble PM Ji mentioned world’s 1st Nano Urea made by IFFCO in his program in Mann ki Baat on Sunday. The use of drones in agriculture for spraying Nano Urea is an efficient use of technology in agriculture.
It bears recall that in the presence of Union Minister of Chemicals & Fertilizers and Health & Family Welfare Mansukh Mandaviya, a practical field trial of Drone Spraying of Nano Liquid Urea was conducted in Bhavnagar, Gujarat. The trial was attended by a large number of farmers.
Drone spraying of Nano urea has solved many problems as it is done in lesser time and the area covered is larger, thereby saving the time of the farmers. The cost of spraying is also less resulting in financial gains for the farmers.
IFFCO in its study has found that spraying Nano urea through drones is more effective on crops and will also have a positive effect on productivity. A large number of farmers who participated in trials report positive outcomes.
Last month in a village in Rajasthan, a demonstration of the Spraying of IFFCO Nano Urea and Sagarika by Drone was organized for more than 200 farmers in the presence of the Ex-Chairman of TRIFED.
