On Monday, the fertilizer cooperative IFFCO has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Prasar Bharati to broadcast a 30-minute program series on Agriculture Technology and Innovations on DD Kisan Channel. The agreement was signed at a program organized in Prithvi Bhavan.
While IFFCO was represented by its MD Dr U S Awasthi, CEO Shashi S Vempati represented Prasar Bharati. Besides, Principal Scientific Adviser to GOI K Vijay Raghavan, IFFCO Marketing Head Yogendra Kumar and other dignitaries also graced the occasion.
According to the MoU, DD Kisan will broadcast IFFCO’s innovations with farmers in an easy language through approximately 25 episodes.
IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi said, DD Kisan is the natural alternative of IFFCO for the farmers and it is a matter of joy that the innovations which can benefit farmers immensely will now be broadcast on DD Kisan. It will also help to achieve the target of increasing income of farmers.
On the occasion, Prasar Bharati CEO Shashi Shekhar Vempati called this a matter of pride. Through this medium the information will be shared with the farmers in an easy language. In addition, these programs will also be broadcast through digital medium so that the young farmers can benefit from the initiative.
Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India K. Vijay Raghavan said that this initiative is a historic step for the betterment of farmers. The vast network of Doordarshan will help in explaining agriculture innovations to the farmers in an easy language which will help them a great deal.
Besides, people associated with IFFCO are seeing this development as a milestone for the farmers. One of the IFFCO MD followers wrote on twitter, ” This was a much-awaited platform to reach out to the masses, Sir. We shall explore it to the fullest to educate the farmers and transfer the basics as well as the latest farm technology. Thank you, Sir”.
