On the close heels of its ordering 2nd Oxygen plant in Aonla, fertilizer titan IFFCO ordered setting up of its 3rd Oxygen plant at Phulpur, Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.
“IFFCO has given order for 3rd Medical Oxygen plant with capacity of 130 Cubic Mtr/hr in its Phulpur unit in Uttar Pradesh. IFFCO will give Free Oxygen to hospitals in the nation’s service”, reads a note sent by IFFCO.
The plant will commence by 30th May. Aonla unit is also scheduled to produce oxygen by 30th May. The transposition of plants needs some time. A dedicated separate team has been also assigned for this project. It’s an automatic cylinder filling turnkey plant.
IFFCO release clarifies that its free Oxygen plant in Phulpur will generate medical grade oxygen and fill 450 big D type cylinders daily & 150 medium B size cylinders on demand supplied to all hospitals for free from 30th May.
IFFCO will fill up free of cost the oxygen cylinders for hospitals in UP and adjoining areas. They need to bring their own cylinders for refill. A security deposit will be taken if cylinders taken from IFFCO to avoid hoarding of oxygen.
The groundwork for two plants in Uttar Pradesh has already started. The next plant scheduled to come up at Paradeep in Odisha is also being readied at a high speed.
“We at IFFCO are educating farmers and villagers at the remotest level about this pandemic. Last year also, IFFCO did a countrywide campaign called “IFFCO Fights Corona & Break The Corona Chain”, stressed the co-op giant.
“We distributed face masks, medical soaps, sanitisers & vitamin C tablets along with free ration wherever it was required for labourers etc. It’s time to together fight this pandemic & take the country out of this situation. IFFCO has always given its service for the nation building”, tweeted its MD Dr U S Awasthi who is leading the fight against the Corona from the front.
