One of the units of the cooperative giant IFFCO based in Phulpur near Allahabad in UP has bagged the 17th National Award for Excellence in Energy Management. The award is bestowed by Confederation of Indian Industries CII- an umbrella organization of industries.
The industries are awarded for their initiatives in Energy Management and for Innovative Energy Saving Products or Services. Energy Award is the best platform for the organizations that have made outstanding contributions in the area of energy efficiency to showcase their efforts and achievements, claims CII.

Over 150 energy efficient companies across various sectors such as pharma, cement, and power have converged at Hyderabad for a CII event on energy efficiency to share their strategies and best practices on energy management.
The industry body CII, in its efforts to encourage Indian industries adopt efficient energy management practices in their operations, has been organizing the annual National Award for Excellence in Energy Management.
The objective of the Award Scheme is to recognize and award excellence in Energy Management in the Industrial Sector and facilitate sharing of information on Best practices & technologies. .
Earlier, IFFCO’s Paradeep unit had won the “CII 16th National Award for Excellence in Energy Management 2015” for outstanding achievements in Energy Management.
